Mr. Syed Zahid Ali
(Secretary-General)

Until 2005, Mr. Ali served as President of the ‘Junior Chamber International Pakistan‘, a worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs. He is also the founding president of the 'Pakistan Society of International Affairs'.

Mr. Ali first developed his experience in the field of consular and developmental diplomacy with the Honorary Consulate of Cameroon in Karachi.

Prior to his election to the Presidency of JCI Pakistan, Secretary-General Ali served as member of the ‘Diplomatic Affairs Committee‘ of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as ‘Development Officer‘ for the Asia-Pacific Development Council of JCI.

Mr. Ali is well known for his involvement in the field of social and economic development. He enjoys close relations with the diplomatic and economic leadership of Pakistan and as been regularly featured in the local and national media.

Prior to his appointment as Secretary-General of IOSD, Mr. Ali held appointments as Official Representative for ROLF in Karachi and HBTO Head of Mission for Pakistan.

He is a specialist in inter–Islamic diplomacy and committed to strengthening the relationship between IOSD and the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC).

Secretary-General Syed Zahid Ali meets with Pakistan Senate Chairman

Mr. Syed Zahid Ali met with the Senate Chairman of Pakistan and third-ranking official of Pakistan Mr. Muhammad Mian Soomro. The Secretary General offered a brief overview of IOSD activities and noted that Education and Sustainable Development have recently emerged as key factors on the government's domestic agenda.
