The quality of each human life is at the center of our vision.
While it is true that every human life is uniquely meaningful regardless of its economic and cultural context, there can be no doubt that education, culture, economic opportunities and access to medical care can make it longer and more fulfilling.
The IOSD vision is based on the conviction that wealthier nations have the opportunity and the duty to assist developing nations achieve rapid yet sustainable economic progress.
Because of the importance of education for economic development, the IOSD network believes that technology has made it possible to deliver best-of-breed education anywhere in the world, provided that electricity is locally available. |
Our economic / structural support programs includes:
- Sustainable Development Certification of Public Programs and Projects
- Millenium Challenge technical assistance
- E-Government / technology support

* e.g. ICCI businesswomen, foreign ministry staff, etc.
Our local economic development program is the result of this educational initiative.
IOSD/EUCLID programs include small business courses adapted to the needs to the region, hence fostering the creation of new local opportunities. At the heart of this IOSD program is the awareness that higher education often leads to emigration or to a quest for public employment, with the consequence that local talent is not put to use where it is most needed: in villages and smaller urban areas.

Our economic relief program is administered by IOSD's DirectAid agency: DirectAid agency as a new way to give and share. Here is how it works:
1. Our task is to identify trustworthy organizations with people "in the field", i.e. missionaries, peace corps workers, local officials, village doctors, clergy, etc. |
2. Once registered and screened, these field agents ("DA AGENTS") are invited to send us information on families with have special needs or specific projects that need funding. These needs are entered in a database and you (the "DA DONOR") have access to it.
3. If you find someone (or something) that you would like to help (you can search by country, type of need, religious affiliation, etc), you can do several things:
- send your gift (clothes, canned food, even currency) directly to the family
- send your gift to the family via the local agent (missionary, NGO worker etc)
- send a monetary donation to DirectAid and we will try to use those funds only and specifically for the family or project that you indicated.
4. Every ACTION is recorded so you know who is receiving what and efforts are not duplicated. You can also decide to "adopt" a family or individual for a particular period.
